Getting Here & Accommodation
One of the benefits of living on an island that is a 'Tourist Mecca' during the high season is that we are blessed with a fabulous and inexpensive public transportation system. You could take a taxi (approximately € 45 from the airport) but you can also get to Sóller by taking public transportation.
We are pleased to offer some helpful tips on how to get to the conference using the island buses.
Take the #1 EMT Bus (€ 5.00 per person) from the airport to Plaça de Espana in the centre of Palma. From there it is a short walk to the Intermodal Bus and Train Station. Go downstairs and you can take either the #210 bus or the #211.
You can purchase your bus ticket from the bus driver. Please ensure that you say ´Sóller' since there is also a ´Port de Sóller' where the bus route will terminate after leaving Sóller.
This bus takes the more scenic route to Sóller and goes through the beautiful town of Valldemossa, up along the northern coast to Deiá, then over the mountains to Sóller. The views are simply spectacular and it only costs € 3.90 per person each way. The approximate travel time is one hour and fifteen minutes.
Alternatively, you can take the express bus (#211) that goes through the tunnel to Sóller. It costs € 2.65 and takes approximately 35 minutes.
Both buses will drop you off at the main bus stop on Carrer de Cetre. From there you will walk down the road through Plaça de Americá, turn right on Carrer de Sa Mar, left on Carrer de Baucá and left on Avenida de Cristófol Colom which becomes Carrer de sa Romaguera. The hotel is on the right. It is about a ten minute walk.
The area around Sóller offers a variety of hotels and guest houses to suit any budget. While we do not endorse any hotel, we have included a link to some of the hotels in Sóller and Port de Sóller along with links to their websites.
